Your stay ends with a moment of relaxation by the turquoise-blue sea of Sainte Marie… an itinerary rich in encounters and adventures.

After a few hours’ flight, you land on Madagascan soil.
Antananarivo, or “City of Thousand “, is the largest city and capital of Madagascar. It stretches over 12 hills and is made up of a lower town and an upper town, classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. On arrival at the airport, your driver-guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel.

day 2
Join the village of Andasibe, nestled in the eastern rainforest. Pass through Moramanga, the historic town from which the national uprising for independence began in 1947. En route, stop to visit the Peyrieras reserve, a must-see. It offers a wonderful introduction to Madagascar’s fauna, with its many varieties of endemic animals. Continue on to Andasibe. On arrival, check into your hotel. Then off to visit the Vakôna private reserve.

day 3
Discover the Andasibe National Park, a dense and humid forest known for its biodiversity. The reserve is specially designed not only to shelter the families of Indri indri, the largest lemur in Madagascar, known as «Babakoto» who invokes an anecdote about the little boy called Ikoto (the guide will tell you a little more). You will also encounter other species of lemurs such as the Propithecusdiadema but also many birds. Get back to the hotel. A night walk of about one hour will be offered: an opportunity to see the nocturnal wildlife species of the region like the famous Microcèbe.

day 4
Drive to Manambato, where you embark on a peaceful stroll on the Pangalanes Canal towards Ankanin’ny Nofy (the dream nest). You cross the villages and the artisanal plantations according to the currents, for a complete immersion in the river culture of the region. Installation at the hotel.

day 5
Visit of the Palmarium Private Reserve, between Lake Ampitabe and the Indian Ocean which extends over 50 hectares. It is home to a dozen species of lemurs, such as the Indri, Sifaka, Coronatus, Varécia, Variegata, Propithecus… living in freedom and accustomed to living together. There are also rare and endemic terrestrial and arboreal fauna and the famous Traveller’s Tree. A guide from the hotel will then accompany you on a visit to the fishing village to immerse you in the daily life of the Malagasy. The opportunity to exchange with the villagers who can offer you local products. At the end of the day, visit the reserve of Aye-Aye, the night lemur endemic to Madagascar. A stage not to bemissed!

You take the Pangalanes canal until Tamatave, a meander of canals dotted with typical villages. An arboreal fauna as well as a magnificent flora are the delight of nature lovers (ebony, mahogany, orchids, carnivorous plants…). Your driver is waiting for you at the river port of Tamatave to take you to your hotel. Free afternoon.

day 7
Early in the morning, transfer by shuttle to Mahambo which is north of Tamatave to take the boat to Sainte Marie, Nosy Boraha in Malagasy, the largest island off the east coast of Madagascar. This paradise island was once inhabited by pirates and some remains testify to its occupation.

It’s up to you to concoct your own program for these vacation days. If you want to relax, your hotel offers a magnificent view of the sea, so you can make the most of your day. If you’re in the mood for a stroll or an excursion, the island of Sainte Marie offers a variety of sea and land-based activities (beach walks, visits to Ile aux Nattes or Islet Madame, natural swimming pool…).

After breakfast, a vehicle will take you to the South of Sainte Marie to settle there. A new glimpse of this authentic island. The rest of the days will be free.

Transfer to the airport according to the flight schedule to reach the capital. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and rest.
