Depart on a cruise, crossing Nosy Be to the port. An opportunity to take to the water and discover the magnificent seabed and multicolored fish. Arrive in the afternoon at Baie des Russes or Baie d’Ambavatory, a bay of white sandy beaches, an ideal spot for a swim. At sunset, dolphins often come to bask in the calm waters. Discover the town of Nosy Be by tuc-tuc: visit the market, historic monuments, the dhow port, and a short stopover in the shade of a sumptuous banyan tree, the sacred tree of Nosy Be. Then drive south through the coffee and ylang-ylang blossoms. Lunch is served in one of the island’s best-known restaurants. In the afternoon, swim and learn about braiding and masonjoany on Andilana beach, reputed to be one of Nosy Be’s most beautiful beaches. End the day with a cocktail on Mont Passot, the island’s highest point, from where you can admire a magnificent 360° sunset.

This day is organized to bring you into direct contact with the local population. Leave the hotel to explore this remote part of the island on foot, meeting small-scale producers of Ylang Ylang and their various market gardens.
Arrival in the village and welcome by the locals: a typical Malagasy meal is prepared in a convivial atmosphere, in the local style: sharing, exchange and discovery are the order of the day.
Visit the school, where you’ll hear the children’s songs, and learn about the village women’s rice-pounding techniques, the carpenter’s techniques for building houses, and traditional hair-braiding. Then head for a traditional still where you’ll discover Nosy Be’s best-known specialty: the distillation of Ylang Ylang essential oil, a veritable pillar of the local economy.

Set course for Sakatia, the authentic orchid island. Nosy Sakatia is certainly Nosy Be’s most authentic island (protected and classified by the Ministry of the Environment). Accompanied by a local guide, you’ll set off to discover the island during a 1 to 2-hour stroll: old flamboyant trees, coffee trees, pepper trees, vanilla trees, the traveler’s tree, pineapple trees, cashew trees, mango trees, jackfruit trees, guava trees, eucalyptus trees, raffia, orchids, medicinal plants, etc.). At the end of the day, you’ll be taken to relax on one of the island’s private beaches, a true corner of paradise and tranquility. Possibility of snorkelling. Return to your hotel at the end of the day or in the afternoon, depending on the tide.
