Sainte Marie or Nosy Boraha is known for the whales that come there from mid-July to mid-October : unforgettable spectacle of the giants of the seas! Sainte-Marie is about 50 kilometers long and is still very authentic. Its nature is preserved and is watered by a strong rainfall.
Its beaches, its coves, its Catholic church nestled high overlooking the sea (the oldest in Madagascar), its unforgettable coconut fish but also the “île aux Nattes”…so many good reasons to spend time there. Sainte-Marie is one of our favorites!
